In addition to submitting an application, you also need to request that your official transcripts from your high school, high school equivalency program, and any previous colleges be sent to FTCC.

Please Note: Transcripts must be sent to FTCC directly from previous institution(s) or their transcript service to be considered official.

Foreign transcripts from non-US schools must be translated and evaluated by a member of the
National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). SpanTran is our recommended international transcript evaluation service; however, you may use any NACES-approved organization.

SpanTran has created a custom application for FTCC students to help them get the right kind of foreign transcript evaluation at a discounted rate.

Foreign applicants holding either (a) a Visa or (b) a Resident Alien card may be admitted on a rolling basis. Your application will not be considered until all of the following items have been received.

B1/B2 Visas

Applicants who hold a Visitor’s visa (B1/B2) are NOT eligible to enroll in FTCC’s college-level courses.

FTCC is no longer accepting applications from F-1 international students. This change means we are unable to process admissions for students requiring an F-1 visa at this time. We understand this may be disappointing and encourage you to explore other educational opportunities that may better align with your needs. Should our policy change in the future, updates will be provided on our website.

As part of the North Carolina Community College System’s Open-Door Policy, undocumented students are welcome to enroll in courses at FTCC. However, there are specific guidelines to keep in mind:

1. Eligibility for Admission
   Must have graduated from a U.S. high school, an adult high school, a home school that operates in compliance with State or local law, or obtained a GED/HiSET diploma to enroll in curriculum programs.
2. Tuition
   Due to state regulations, undocumented students are required to pay out-of-state tuition, regardless of how long they have lived in North Carolina.
3. Financial Aid
   Undocumented students are not eligible for federal or state financial aid (such as FAFSA or state grants). However, there may be private scholarships and institutional aid available to help with tuition costs.
4. Program Restrictions
   Some programs, especially those involving licensure (e.g., nursing, law enforcement, etc.), may have restrictions based on legal work eligibility in the U.S. If you are interested in a specific program, we recommend checking with the program area for more details.
