On Friday, Governor Roy Cooper announced appointments for North Carolina boards and commissions.
Among those appointed were two locals.
Among the four individuals appointed to the Financial Literacy Council was Stuart L. Mills of Pinehurst. Mills serves as the executive director of Partners for Children and Families, Inc., one of Moore County’s largest nonprofits. He has been in the nonprofit sector in Moore County for the past six years.
Major General Rodney O. Anderson of Fayetteville was appointed as the individual chair of the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission. Anderson served for 33 years in the US Army as a field artilleryman and general officer.
He was deployed to Grenada in Desert Storm and Afghanistan.
“He held several strategic assignments, culminating in his assignment as Deputy Commander and Acting Commander of 18th Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg,” the press release said.
Anderson was originally appointed to the commission by Governor Cooper in 2019.
