The Culture and Heritage Alliance announces the 6th annual African World Peace Festival. The festival is scheduled to take place from Sept. 9-11 in Cool Spring Downtown District. The event was made possible with the help of a grant in the amount of $12,150 from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County.
The Festival is structured to bring people together as a community to celebrate all cultures with an emphasis on Africa through music, dance, food, art exhibitions and more. The activities are divided into four zones: Kid’s Zone with games, puzzles, and a climbing wall; an Arts & Crafts area with artisan vendors and workshops; Music on the Mainstage, with local bands and African Drummers; and a Food Court. The festival organizers welcome vendors and sponsors, as their festival relies on grants, sponsorships, and donations to succeed.
In addition to the festival, they will hold a 5k/10k Peace Run at 7 a.m. through Downtown Fayetteville on Saturday morning. Advance registration is required to participate in the 5k/10k, and walkers are welcome on the 5k route. Visit https://africanworldpeacefestival.org/5k-10k-run/ to register.
