Military spouse career expo coming to Fayetteville

The 2nd Annual MilSpo Career Expo is returning to Fayetteville. This hiring event is scheduled for Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Smith Lake Recreation Center in Fayetteville, and will serve both active duty and veteran military spouses.

This year the theme is “Importance of Branding,” with emphasis on the fact that branding yourself will assist you to have a successful career and be ready to shine by yourself. Their guest speaker Torette Williams, a senior military spouse, will speak about this message as well.

There will be four workshops offered at the event:

Interviewing skills
How to be successful in the workplace
How to search for remote employment
How to PCS your business

The event will feature 29 vendors representing a wide range of industries such as healthcare, banking, public schools, colleges, retail, restaurants, and state/government.

The event is catered and free to all active duty & veteran military spouses. Refreshments will be provided by Dorothy's Catering 2. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive makeup touch ups, get a free professional headshot taken, benefit from resume reviews and access employment opportunities.

Business Advisor at the Women's Business Center of Fayetteville Candice Cameron shared what it means to her to be involved with this event: “I enjoy doing this event, because there are so many networking opportunities for myself, my organization and the participating organizations. We are building professional relationships that will help each other and our community.”
