Fortuna BMC hosts open house, announces Ops will be run out of Fayetteville

On Nov. 10 Fortuna BMC hosted an open house event at their Fayetteville office to give insight into the future plans of the company.

Fortuna BMC is a disabled, veteran-owned and HUBZone certified business that was founded by Jack Smith in 2014 with a strong focus in IT consulting and staffing. 

Diana Potts is the Chief Operations Officer for Fortuna BMC, and CEO Smith announced today that Fortuna’s Ops office will be here in Fayetteville. 

“I saw everything you needed to be successful in the community right here, people care, passionate community, you've got 500 veterans a month transitioning and they're all leaving and we got to figure out a way to weave them into the fabric of this community. And so you know, I fell in love with the city immediately just from the passion and the folks here,” remarked Smith during the event. 

Additionally, Fortuna BMC has recently been named to Inc. 5000 Magazine’s 6th annual Vet100 list. This list highlights the fastest-growing veteran-owned businesses across the nation. “We are grateful to the Inc. 5000 team and so happy to be a part of this amazing community. It is an honor to be recognized amongst such a prestigious group,” shared Founder & CEO Jack Smith in a press release. 

Fortuna BMC grew from a 40-person company to a 700-person company in only nine months. 

Fortuna is a veteran-centric business and the team announced that they plan to do a lot of hiring soon with the majority of positions being remote or hybrid opportunities. 

“...We need a lot of people coming up and we want to put the people in this community to work,” said Potts at the conclusion of the event. 

Fortuna BMC is a member of the Greater Fayetteville Chamber, a military affairs council member with the chamber and a member of the Greater Sandhills Chamber.

 

Editor's Note as of 11/11/2022: Founder and CEO of Fortuna BMC Jack Smith later clarified that the Fayetteville location will be the main headquarters for Operations. The company will still be based out of McClellan Park California.
