The 4th Annual Hope Mills Chili Cookoff boasted a fantastic turn out this past Saturday. Hope Mills Chamber President Casey Ferris was excited to announce that they had more attendees and raised more money at this chili cook-off than they have in any years in the past. Staff sold almost 500 flights of chili during the event.

“Everybody really, really upped all of their presentation and the whole shebang this year. I was very, very pleased,” remarked Ferris.

They'll be making a $1000 donation to the Veterans Affairs Council from the proceeds earned at the event.

The top three chilis were recognized with a plaque and a cash reward. The People’s Choice Award was also recognized with a plaque and a cash prize. The winners were:

Tied for first place: Taste of the Wild and Chef Matt
In second place: Tams white chicken chili
In third place: Lakes Eats & Treats
People’s Choice Award: Willie & Anthony from Service Source

“We couldn't have done it without all our amazing sponsors, contestants, vendors, community partners, Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom and our amazing Board of Directors!” shared a Hope Mills Chamber staff member on their social media page.

The editorial team at the Greater Fayetteville Business Journal would like to thank Casey Ferris for allowing us to be judges in this year's chili cookoff. It was a wonderful privilege to enjoy all of the delightful chilis prepared by members of our community.
