Fayetteville State University recently named Tina Raines as its inaugural assistant vice chancellor for marketing and creative services, effective Nov. 18, 2022.

As director of marketing at FSU, Raines conceptualized and implemented Fayetteville State University’s integrated marketing plan aimed at engaging internal and external audiences to boost attendance and support for the university. The integrated marketing plan includes official branding, recruitment marketing, fundraising marketing, internal and external communication, and event marketing.

“Tina has led FSU through many marketing enhancements over the past six years. We are making extraordinary strides in the Office of Strategic Communication and are fortunate to have a marketing professional of her caliber and experience leading our marketing and creative services efforts,” said Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communication and Chief Communications Officer Joy Cook in a press release. “Her wealth of experience, creativity, passion and talent inspire our team and help highlight the best FSU has to offer. In her new role she will also manage our creative services staff.”

Raines has served FSU as director of marketing for six years and brings more than three decades of experience in engaging stakeholders to meet the goals of for-profit companies, non-profit organizations and institutions of higher learning.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to integrate my passion for education and storytelling into marketing initiatives that will help FSU grow and continue its phenomenal momentum,” Raines said in a press release.

Some of the notable actions Raines has taken to encourage growth at the university include introducing advertising campaigns focused on recruiting traditional and non-traditional students, leading a website redesign effort, developing creative and impactful strategies to connect during the COVID pandemic and marketing new fundraising initiatives to attract new donors and increase per capita giving.

Raines holds a bachelor of arts degree from the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master of arts in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University of Spokane, Washington.
