FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital recognized as one of the safest in the country

FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital has been awarded a national honor that positions Moore Regional among the safest hospitals in the United States.
The Pinehurst hospital received an ‘A’ in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2022 hospital safety grades.
An independent national watchdog organization, The Leapfrog Group has a 10-year history of assigning letter grades to general hospitals throughout the United States based on a hospital’s ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients.
“FirstHealth is committed to keeping our patients safe and providing the highest quality care to all we serve,” said FirstHealth CEO Mickey Foster, MHA in a press release. “The consecutive ‘A’ safety grades from The Leapfrog Group demonstrate the commitment of our team to make safety a top priority, and I’m extremely proud of this accomplishment.”
The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Hospital Safety Grade results are based on more than 30 national performance measures and are updated each fall and spring.
“Our team consistently responds to the demands and challenges of working in a hospital environment while upholding the highest standards for safe patient care,” said Jenifir Bruno, M.D., chief medical officer for FirstHealth in a press release. “We are proud to consistently rank among the country’s safest hospitals.”
Jonathan Davis, MPH, FACHE, FirstHealth chief operating officer and president of Moore Regional Hospital, said in a press release that the hospital’s ‘A’ safety grade is an outstanding achievement reflective of FirstHealth’s safety, clinical excellence and teamwork in caring for patients.
“I’m deeply proud of our staff, providers and volunteers. Their unwavering commitment to compassionate care and clinical excellence gives us this opportunity for national acknowledgment,” he said. “This outstanding achievement is recognition of the FirstHealth family’s commitment to work together to uphold our core purpose To Care for People,” said Davis.
