Niki Shamdasani and her younger sister Ritika Shamdasani have been named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Retail & Ecommerce for their company Sani. Sani, founded in 2017, is a South Asian-inspired fashion brand headquartered in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Niki shared that the news came as a shock to both of them. “We couldn’t believe it when we first saw the email from Forbes saying we were included and triple checked that it was real! When we realized it was, we were so excited and grateful.”
Though their hopes were high when they began, the success of the company has exceeded expectations. “We’ve always had big dreams, but even then you have to be ready to adapt to how that manifests - we definitely didn’t anticipate the twists and turns that would bring Sani to what it is today,” commented Niki.
The Shamdasani sisters shared some words of wisdom for aspiring entrepreneurs. “Just get started and get feedback. It’s great to dream, it’s great to plan, but you can’t learn and grow without putting something out into the world.”
Forbes defines its 30 Under 30 Retail & Ecommerce list as “a window into where the retail industry is headed next.”
Niki took to social media to say “We owe it to the best support system + the privilege of having parents that made all the sacrifices in the world for us.”
