Local Fayetteville company develops attic safety product

Fayetteville based technology company U-TECK has unveiled their latest in safety products with their new “Attic-Trax Illuminated” released on Dec. 8. The purpose of these illuminated walk boards is to increase safety when walking through dark attic spaces. 

U-TECK’s Marketing Director Casey Ferris shared some details about the new “Attic-Trax Illuminated” and the purpose for this improved product. 

The original Attic-Trax did not glow; it simply functioned as a walk board. However, clients expressed their desire for the product to be made even better, and that inspired the addition of lighting to the boards. 

The new boards are composed of a lightweight polymer that is nonconductive. Each board comes with a rechargeable LED light that snaps in on the underside of the board. Light brightness can be adjusted. The lights can be removed with a single small thumb screw and recharged from the vehicle or office with the included charging cable. Brightness level affects battery life with the longevity of light ranging from a two and a half hour battery life at 100 percent brightness and a nine and a half hour battery life at 10 percent brightness.
