NC4ME to host first Beers + Careers military networking event of 2023

Following the great success of the last Beers + Careers networking event that was hosted in Fayetteville in November, NC4ME is once again hosting a military employment networking social in partnership with Institute for Veterans and Military Families. 

Employers and all Veterans, transitioning service members, guard/reserve members, and military spouses are invited to attend the Beers + Careers military networking event hosted at Dirtbag Ales in Hope Mills, NC on Jan. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. 

“We had in total 20 employers show up with various hiring managers, talent acquisition specialists, and we had just over 85, transitioning service members, dependents and spouses that showed up as well to take part in the event…We've gotten some feedback from a few companies that actually they took on quite a few of the the candidates and they actually got hired, so we are touting that one as great success,” shared NC4ME’s Director of Veteran Employment Marion R. McClary II.

This month’s event aims to curate the same social environment and follow the same flow as the previous event. The structure of the event will be the same as before with the event beginning at 4 p.m. with the first hour reserved for participants of IVMF’s Onward to Opportunity program. From 5 to 7 p.m. the event will be open to all service members and military spouses.

“The relaxed environment helps a lot. People bring their guard down and they're able to have a conversation that most times leads to a great opportunity,” shared McClary.

A few of the businesses registered to be at the event include Booz Allen Hamilton, Pike Energy, Wells Fargo, Frontier Science Solutions and Brady Services. Additionally, Fayetteville State University will be there to talk about some of the programs that they have for Veterans. They hope to have about 20 employers present at the event.
