As part of a consent order, the announcement of plans to close the Crown Theatre in 2025 came in the early part of 2020, mainly because the building was not ADA compliant.

In a press release Thursday, Cumberland County announced that it is seeking feedback from residents about a potential new entertainment venue to replace the Crown Theatre.

The county will collect comment through an online survey. The deadline to participate in the survey is July 23.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, the county said in the release.

Although the project was set back by the COVID-19 pandemic, the management firm that operates the Crown Complex, Spectra Venue Management, began working on the project in 2020. The firm's role was to select a company for a market analysis and feasibility study, and it selected Convention, Sports & Leisure for the study.
