Fayetteville sees increase in IT job postings closing out 2022

The NC Technology Association has released its monthly snapshot of available IT positions in the state for December.
The state of North Carolina saw a four percent decline from Dec. 2021 with 31,986 job postings.
Unlike the state overall, Fayetteville saw a significant increase in IT job postings last month. Fayetteville was ranked fourth in the top MSAs of North Carolina for IT job postings. There was a 94 percent increase for job postings in Fayetteville from Dec. 2021 to Dec. 2022, with 1,612 postings last month.
“2022 ended with another slight decline in IT Job Postings across North Carolina,” said Andrea Fleming, Director of Talent + Workforce Development at NC TECH, in a press release. “While concerning, this is not a surprise. Many big names have announced layoffs and often fourth quarter is slower than other times during the year. During this economic uncertainty, one element holds true; North Carolina maintains a strong economic position headed into 2023. The state was recently named 2022 State of the Year by Business Facilities Magazine for robust capital investment and job creation, and state developers cite continued record interest for development in North Carolina.”
