Dick’s Sporting Goods prepares for Fayetteville House of Sport opening; 100+ staff needed

Major developments are in the works for the Dick’s Sporting Goods location in Fayetteville, NC.

The retailer, which focuses primarily on sporting goods, will be expanding their offerings in their new location at 2741 Freedom Parkway Dr. in the Freedom Town Center.

DICK’s House of Sport is currently under construction, and to begin preparing for the grand opening of the new facility expected to take place this summer, the search is on for staff members.

A mass hiring event is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 24, through May 18 at Segra Stadium at 460 Hay Street in downtown Fayetteville.

According to Community and Events Manager for DSG- House of Sport Tonette Johnson, the goal is to hire more than 100 people in the area for both full and part time positions to staff the new facility.

Those interested can start the process at www.dicks.com/jobs, find the Fayetteville location and find any position attached to the title “HIRING EVENT.”

Once the Candidate submits their application, a task will be assigned to prompt them to self-schedule an interview for the Mass Hire Event.

Monday through Friday the scheduler will be set up from 9:00am – 4:00pm and from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Saturdays. There will be no interviews on Sundays.

While no specific details about the Fayetteville location specifically have been released, there are currently only three other locations around the country in Minnetonka, MN, Knoxville, TN and Rochester, NY according to the House of Sport Website.

Other locations have featured a full baseball field, a rock climbing wall, a ‘Health and Wellness’ focused portion, a batting cage and more.

DSG Senior Manager of Corporate Communications Sarah Cassella offered the following statement on the new location when asked to comment:

“DICK’S House of Sport is a 100,000+ square foot store that provides athletes with an incredible assortment of products along with in-store experiences including a climbing wall, multiple golf bays with TrackMan simulators, and multi-sport cages that can be used for baseball, softball, lacrosse and soccer and give athletes an opportunity to try product while measuring and tracking their performance. House of Sport stores also focus on deep integration with the local community through partnerships and events.”

DSG is still operating in Fayetteville while renovations on their new building are underway. Guests can still shop at their temporary location at 1918 Skibo Rd.
