Cumberland County Commissioners approve the sale and purchase properties throughout Fayetteville

Cumberland County Commissioners approved the purchase and sale of several properties throughout Fayetteville at their regular meeting on May 1. 

Commissioners accepted an offer to purchase surplus property located at 2308 Slater Avenue in Fayetteville for a total amount of $6,731.74 from buyer Michael Nepstad, Jr.

The County and City of Fayetteville acquired the real property, .22 Acre, known as the Bertha Butler Land located at 2308 Slater Avenue, Fayetteville, at a tax foreclosure sale in 2016 for a purchase price of $6,731.74. The property is zoned MR5 with a tax value of $6,500.00. Based on the GIS Mapping and the tax records, there is no structure on the land. The city conveyed its interest in the property to the county on April 18, 2023, by a quitclaim deed. 

Commissioners also voted to accept an offer to purchase another surplus property located at 1266 Coley Drive in Fayetteville.

Commissioners accepted a purchase offer of $7,874.46 from one Synthia McNair. 

According to County records, the County and City of Fayetteville acquired the real property identified as being Lots 12 & 13, College Heights, Block G, at a tax foreclosure sale in 2007 for a purchase price of $7,874.46. The property is zoned MR5 with a tax value of $5,000.00. Based on the GIS Mapping and the tax records, there is no structure on the property. The city conveyed its interest in the property to the county on April 18, 2023, by a quitclaim deed.

Also approved was the sale of property located at 724 North Street to David Nepstad, Jr.

The property identified  as Lots 3 & 4, Alexander McArthur Property, Block D, was sold for $13,700. The parcel is zoned MR5 with a tax value of $3,375.00. Based on the County GIS Parcel View System and the tax records, there is no structure on the lot.
