The 2023 Juneteenth Jubilee is this weekend, June 17-18 in downtown Fayetteville in Festival Park.
This event is brought to the community by the City of Fayetteville and hosted by Cool Spring Downtown District and will be keeping with a 1970s theme.
Featured on Saturday: an old school skate jam, over 90 vendors and food trucks, headliners Rose Royce and the FatBack Band, and more from 3 - 9 p.m. Sunday kicks off at 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and features multiple GRAMMY award-winning and Soul Train Music Motown gospel recording artist Tye Tribbett.
In addition to the festivities in the park, the Can-Do Coldwell Trolley will morph into the “Can You Dig It” Trolley, for a history tour focused on Black Fayetteville in the 1970s, curated in partnership with local historian and archivist, Nicholle Young St. Leone.
The trolley will run at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. with each run lasting about 30-45 minutes. Admission to the trolley tour is free, though donations are accepted and appreciated.
The weekend will also include a Juneteenth Jubilee Costume Contest, a Juneteenth Celebration 5K and the Cool Spring Downtown District is also excited to bring an outdoor skating rink to the Jubilee.
