The long awaited entertainment center Main Event has announced that it will open for business on Aug. 11. Main Event will be open seven days a week offering people of all ages an environment and fun with activities such as bowling and laser tag.
Aug. 9 is the business’s soft opening. This will be an opportunity for the staff to finalize their training and conduct operations in a scaled back manner. Capacity will be limited for this initial soft opening.
“We will still be in the process of making sure that our team is fully trained and prepared to give the best service possible. So we do ask that people be patient with us if they come in on the 9th, and know that we're still kind of buffing out all of the different little things to help create a great experience for everyone,” remarked Sales Manager Kia McMillan.
Main Event will officially open its doors for a grand opening on Aug. 11. The Greater Fayetteville Chamber will host a ribbon cutting for the business’s opening.
The company is still hiring, with hopes to have 180 employees hired by the time of their grand opening.
They are having open interviews Monday - Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as well as from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. They will also hold open interviews Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. These interviews are being held at their temp office which is located at 1732 Skibo Rd. Applicants are asked to submit their information on their website or on Indeed prior to the interview to make the process easier.
“We know Fayetteville has been waiting for an entertainment venue like this for at least four years…we all love what we do and we're just excited to finally get into the center and just get people in there and start seeing smiles on faces and throwing really fun parties,” shared McMillan.
Hours of operation will be Sunday - Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
McMillan shared that with these late hours the business has been sure to take proper security measures so that guests can safely enjoy a late night of fun. From security cameras to police officers on site, security is a high priority for the business.
People can begin booking events such as birthday parties online now. Any events from September on can be booked in advance. People also have the option to rent out the entire venue for an event.
Anyone interested in having an event prior to September can email or call Kia McMillan: kia.mcmillan@mainevent.com; 910-552-1780
Main Event will be having a VIP party August 7 which will be an invitation only event. However, there is going to be an opportunity for people to win tickets to this event. Their promotion called “The Lost Pins” requires people to find 10 bowling pins hidden across town. Hints will be given on their website from July 26 to Aug. 4 and anyone who finds a certain number of bowling pins can win tickets to the VIP party and if someone finds all 10 of the bowling pins, they could win laser tag for life.
Main Event will also have “Pins for a Purpose” where everyone that bowls on a certain lane can earn money for charities. Every strike that those people get will become a donation to a local nonprofit. The first nonprofit that will be receiving a donation will be Fayetteville Urban Ministries.
They will also be having spirit nights for nonprofit organizations to be able to come in and raise money. These will be during the week and 10 percent of all of the sales minus alcohol sales gets donated to that team, organization, school or nonprofit. Organizations can email Kia McMillan their information if they are interested in a spirit night.
“Our goal is to be as much a part of this community as possible. Main Event believes in community outreach, we believe in community engagement, and we believe in truly immersing ourselves in the community that we are a part of…Whether that's having an event at Main Event or us coming out to your event, and doing something you know, we just want to be everywhere,” remarked McMillan.
