Fans of Ichi kaku Japanese restaurant and its homemade Japanese Street food now have another opportunity to experience the authentic cuisine at the restaurant's first ever ramen eating contest.

Five competitors will go head to head on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the restaurant located at 350 N. Eastern Blvd in Fayetteville NC. The contestant who eats the most ramen will receive a $300 Ichi kaku gift card and a trophy.

Ichi kaku Owner and Head Chef Yohei Kamiya shared that this is another way to bring something unique for the community to enjoy while also shedding some light on the restaurant's signature dish.

“This is why I’m doing a ramen contest, because people say: ‘Oh nothing happens in Fayetteville.’ that’s why I want to make this happen, and to have some fun, that’s a main reason too.” said Kamiya. “We’ll do it outside and we’ll have DJ music and I’m also asking around to do something like a Japanese car show.”

The Contestants will be chosen at random but anyone interested can apply on the restaurant’s Facebook here or Website here until July 16. There is a $25 entrance fee.
