Meet the panelists: Learning about the four industry professionals who will be taking the stage at the next Power Breakfast

By Stephanie Meador, posted Aug 31, 2023 on BizFayetteville.com

The next Power Breakfast is officially scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 26. We’ll be back in the Ralph and Linda Huff Orangery at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden for a morning of good food, networking and expert insight from area real estate and construction professionals.
The Fayetteville region continues to expand with residential, commercial and industrial real estate projects underway and on the horizon. The title of the next Power Breakfast is Major Developments and it will feature a moderated discussion panel that will talk about the current real estate market and what to expect in the coming years.

“The topic is not just real estate, but construction of real estate. Real estate is the broad topic, but I think when people hear the words real estate, they think about the sale of real estate, but there’s also the development, and the things that are growing, the things that are working, the things that are potentially bottlenecks for our community, we’re going to talk about some of those. It’s going to be probably one of the most insightful Power Breakfasts we’ve ever had, but maybe one of the most difficult to crystallize some key points in the industry because there’s so much going on. It’s such a broad topic,” shared Greater Fayetteville Business Journal’s Publisher Marty Cayton.

THE FOUR PANELISTS FOR THE SEPT. 26 POWER BREAKFAST ARE:

GREG WEST: Owner of RAYWEST DESIGNBUILD, West is a Fayetteville native. He has been a licensed  general contractor in NC since 2004. From 2007-2011, West was General Manager of H & H Homes, a Fayetteville NC based homebuilder, completing over 200 homes per year. In 2012, West started Westan Homes and built over 30 homes per year, until selling the homebuilding company in June 2016. In January 2016, West and Hector Ray began RAYWEST DESIGNBUILD, a commercial design and construction firm, bringing together 30 years of construction experience. RAYWEST DESIGNBUILD is one of only two NC based general contractors chosen to be in the national Retail Contractors Association and they have retail construction projects
going throughout North and South Carolina.

BENJAMIN STOUT: Owner/CEO of Ben Stout Construction, Stout leads his team by focusing on empowering their growth, developing systematic approaches and hiring the best team members. In addition to BSC, he enjoys creating family-friendly developments through his company, Stout Land Development, LLC. Producing multiple lots for fellow builders, BSC, and happy homeowners is the driving force for his growing land company. His personal recognition includes being nominated as one of Fayetteville Observers 40 under 40, serving as President of the Fayetteville HBA, being selected to serve on the North Carolina HBA nominating committee (2022), chairing the City of Fayetteville Planning and Variance board, chairing the City of Fayetteville Stormwater board, and representing BSC at many social events throughout the community.

NEIL GRANT: Founder/Co-Owner/Principal Broker of Grant-Murray Real Estate LLC, Grant founded Grant-Murray Real Estate in 2005 with Patrick Murray and is an owner and principal broker licensed in North Carolina. Born and raised in Fayetteville, Grant understands what is happening in the community and in the commercial and residential real estate markets in Cumberland County and the surrounding area. Grant works with international, national, regional and local clients investing, buying, and selling commercial property in the Greater Fayetteville area. Prior to his career as a real estate broker, Grant owned and managed properties. He has successfully combined his practical experience in property management with his extensive knowledge of real estate to create a thriving, full-service commercial real estate and investment brokerage firm.

LISA GEDDIE: President of Coldwell Banker Advantage Sandhills Region, Geddie is known as a guiding force at the CBA office in Fayetteville, N.C., which has been named the #1 Coldwell Banker office in North America for five years. In 2010, Geddie was tapped to be the Broker-in-Charge for the CBA’s downtown office. In 2012, she was named Director of Operations. In 2016, Geddie rose to Regional General Manager with an emphasis on implementing new programs and cultivating existing ones while also adding to CBA’s portfolio of marketing tools and technology. In 2020, she was promoted to Senior Vice President. She recently served as the President of the Longleaf Pine Realtors, Inc. She also served on that association’s Board of Directors and is a member of the Home Builders Association of Fayetteville.

“These folks are all really involved in their community…I think it’ll be a very interesting discussion, very insightful for the people that are sitting back and observing. I think we’ll get some good questions from the audience as well. Every community is unique and our community is no different. We’re unique on both the commercial and the residential side of things and it’ll be interesting to get the perspective of these folks,” stated Cayton.
