Moore County startup named Top 10 Startup to Watch by NC Tech Association

Active Defender, a startup based in Moore County, has been named as one of the top 10 startups to watch by the NC Tech Association.

NC Tech Association’s Technology Corporate Awards recognize technology companies for innovation, excellence and growth.

According to their website, Active Defender’s innovative crisis communication technology equips students, parents and faculty with tools to help in the event of an emergency.

Active Defender’s emergency app works to ensure all parties involved can gain the answers to these four questions:

What happened?
Where did it happen?
What should we do?
What is my status?

Technology such as this is important for increasing security in schools and ensuring the safety of students and staff.
