Fayetteville Area Youth For Christ Chapter prepares for its annual banquet

The Fayetteville Area Youth For Christ Chapter will host its annual banquet this month.

The banquet, themed “Passing The Faith Along,” will be held at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, a longtime supporter of the 501(c)(3) organization, in the Fellowship Hall, on Oct. 19 from 6-9 p.m. 

“The mission of Youth For Christ is to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to students in the public school system,” said Interim Executive Director Harper Shackelford in a press release. “This message incorporates the roles of belief and service.” 

Supporters who sponsor a table at the event help the organization to expand more into public schools and increase service opportunities. 

“This event is a great opportunity to learn about the meaningful impact of Youth For Christ in the region,” said Campus Life/City Life Director Jenna Shackelford in a press release. 

The local chapter has been serving youth in the Fayetteville region for over three decades. 

YFC’s Campus Life program serves students in Cumberland County Schools before school or after school. It combines healthy relationships with creative programs to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life and positively impact their schools. 

“We are in ten schools in the Cumberland County School System and expanding,” said Campus Life/City Life Director Tee Hughes in a press release. “We had over 200 students express interest in participating in Campus Life this year.”

Campus Life is a place for students to have fun, explore faith and talk about relevant topics. Campus Life provides a balanced approach, benefitting the physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of students, giving them the skills and hope they need to live in a turbulent world.

The cost for a table of eight is $300. 

The deadline for sponsoring a table and RSVPs with the names of attendees is Oct. 9. To purchase tickets or a table, call the Youth For Christ office at 910-491-4333.
