Fort Liberty invites the public to the Grand Re-opening of the Ryder Golf Course Oct. 20 through Oct. 22.
The golf course closed last December so that improvements could be made to bunkers, tee boxes,
greens and for the completion of a new Pro Shop. To celebrate, Ryder Golf Course officially
reopens with a weekend of activities.
A Ribbon Cutting ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, followed by the
Commanding General’s Golf Scramble at 1 p.m. The cost is $45 per person or $180 per team of
four; registration includes greens fee, cart rental, range time and a box lunch. Registration for
the Scramble is required.
The course will begin open play at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21 and 22. Visitors
playing a round of golf either day will be entered for drawings to win prizes.
On Saturday, there is a $10,000 Hole in One contest (must be made during a round of golf). The
Ryder Pro Shop opens at 10 a.m. with a free meal given to the first 250 visitors. Sunday will
feature a putting contest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For more information about registration, call (910) 396-3980. Non-DoD ID cardholders can pre-register for gate access online here.
