Bids now open for Hope Mills Heritage Park phase 1 project

The Town of Hope Mills is now accepting bids for the long awaited Heritage Park Phase I project that was announced and celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, Oct. 6 to signify the beginning of the construction.

The site of Historic Mill #1 which is situated across from Hope Mills Lake will be redesigned into a passive park that will utilize elements of the history Mill that include the repurposing of the old dam gates and flume.

According to the project’s manual:

“Sealed proposals for the project titled Heritage Park will be received by The Town of Hope Mills from qualified bidders, located at Hope Mills Recreation Center located at 5766 Rockfish Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348 on or before Nov. 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.. After the bids have been received, they are to be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment for the construction of the Heritage Park as prescribed in the bid package. Bids will be received for a single prime contract only. All proposals shall be lump sum.”

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Hope Mills Recreation Center located at 5766 Rockfish Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348 local time on Nov. 2, 2023. Interested parties are invited to attend this meeting to discuss the plans, ask for additional information or clarification on the bid package. At the conclusion of the meeting attendees will be invited to attend a site walk.

McAdams Company, Inc. via Sharefile, beginning on Oct. 17, 2023 Please contact Jess Phair at phair@mcadamsco.com to obtain a link to the bid package. Questions or clarifications on the bid package will be received up to 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 17, 2023.
