Fayetteville Women’s Fury Pro Soccer Team announces entry into the USL W

The Fayetteville Fury Women’s Team has announced its official entry into the prestigious USL W League, a move that signifies a remarkable step forward in the journey to elevate women’s soccer in Fayetteville. 

The USL W League stands as the nation’s premier pre-professional soccer league, bridging the gap between collegiate and professional soccer, and serving as a platform for the next generation of female soccer stars. In the league’s second season, the W League had 65 teams competing across 23 states. 

“Our entry into the USL W League marks a turning point for Fayetteville and shows our commitment to the growth and development of women’s soccer,” said Phillip Lin, Owner of the Fayetteville Fury in a press release. “This league provides a remarkable platform to showcase our talented women athletes while also offering them opportunities to excel both on and off the field. We look forward to contributing to the league’s mission of fostering gender equity and creating more pathways for women in soccer.”

The USL W League not only offers elite women’s soccer but also brings the excitement of the sport to communities all across the United States. It promises more opportunities for players, fans, and professionals alike to engage with women’s soccer, ultimately enhancing the sport’s reach and influence. 

“I’m thrilled to welcome Fayetteville Fury to the W League,” USL SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, Joel Nash, said in a press release. “It’s a group that prioritizes the good of their players and their community above all else, and it’s the kind of organization that is going to do great things in our league.”
