The NC Technology Association has released its snapshot of available IT positions in the state for the month of October. The report features data broken down in several ways such as top listings by MSA, job type, skills, certifications, etc.
According to NC TECH’s monthly snapshot, Fayetteville displayed a 2 percent increase in IT job postings when comparing October 2023 with October 2022. There were a reported 257 IT jobs posted for Fayetteville during the month of October. Out of all the NC MSAs, Fayetteville was one of only two to make it out of the red and into the green with an overall positive increase for this month's report.
“IT job postings remained steady from the previous month, though significantly lower than 2022 levels,” shared Andrea Fleming, Director of Talent and Workforce Development at NC TECH, in a press release. “Historically, job postings stall in the fourth quarter and rebound in the first quarter. It will be interesting to see if that pattern repeats over the coming months.”
The Association also conducts a quarterly business sentiment poll of leaders in the state’s tech sector, NC TECH Pulse. In the most recent survey, a substantial majority expressed a positive outlook about their company’s growth and hiring prospects in the fourth quarter. Fleming noted in a press release that the poll also showed that “Tech leaders were asked about their primary sources of concern and optimism for 2024, and interestingly, the economy was near the top as a response to both questions.”
