A new seafood option is now available to the people of Fayetteville at 3386 Cumberland Rd.

The King’s of Sea Mist Fresh Seafood Co. is proud to offer fresh seafood serving as a one stop shop for hungry customers as both a seafood market and restaurant combined.

Co-Owner and Head Chef Roger Gore II, AKA Chef Gore

The team is led by Co-owner and Head Chef Roger Gore II, AKA Chef Gore, a self taught restaurateur who has been perfecting his craft for 32 years. Now, he is ready to bring fresh, affordable seafood to the area with the King’s of Sea Mist Fresh Seafood Co.

The menu includes an assortment of seafood options as well as larger platter meal options.

The King’s crew has been serving up an assortment of seafood options including flounder, whiting, shrimp and more since opening on Nov. 15.

“Most people in this area prefer their fish fried but we stepped it up a little bit. We can fry, grill or steam it. So you can get your seafood raw and then have it cooked or we have different plates and platters that you can order off the menu and each plate and platter comes with fries, hush puppies and coleslaw,” shared Chef Gore. “All of it is pretty exciting. King Isaac's bounty platter, that's actually a low country boil from my godson who is six years old now. We had a Super Bowl party about four years ago when he was two and the only thing he ever wants to eat is crabs. So, I named it King Isaac's bounty platter just to honor him.”

This is actually the second go around for Chef Gore who originally opened as the Sea Mist Fresh Seafood Co. in 2020 which later closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gore and his team purchased King’s Seafood Market in March of 2023 and worked with worked with Fayetteville based TR Construction to renovate the building.

Gore and his team purchased King’s Seafood Market in March of 2023 and decided to merge the names into a fresh rebrand which went along with the renovation of their location. The team worked with Fayetteville based TR Construction to renovate the building into a light and open market area and restaurant kitchen.

“They were here for almost 41 years, so we decided to keep the name King’s so that’s how it came to King’s of Sea Mist Fresh Seafood Co. We just wanted to incorporate the community and keep the name. The owners are great people,” shared Chef Gore.

Chef Gore also shared that the market has been approved for a North Carolina Shellfish Permit which will allow them to buy directly from suppliers instead of having to go through a distributor and hopefully lower costs for customers.

“My whole idea in concept with this is just giving back to the community. I mean, our prices are lower than most prices and seafood markets around town and we take pride in that. We're here as a business, but we're also here to serve the community,” shared Chef Gore.
