As construction continues at the BHAWK Distillery Campus, the newest addition to the Southern Pines brewery lineup, the full scope of what the distillery will be offering is coming into focus, not only as a “brew it themselves” facility but also a new dining option for the area as well.
Along with a shining new bar space offering a BHAWK built drink menu with selections from their Sergeant’s Valor and Madam Colonel lines, a new menu is also in the works.
According to management, the menu will start out small upon opening with a focus on small bite options with grazing board and a few desserts. The Distillery is working to partner with North Carolina vendors to supply their options and while the small bites will be a staple part of the menu, offerings are expected to change seasonally.
The menu is being designed specifically to pair with BHAWK's Sergeant’s Valor and Madam Colonel lines.
“Our menu is set up so we can do small bites, or we can do heavy appetizers and big grazing tables so even though it is a small menu, there’s a lot of options,” shared Bar and Restaurant Manager Rebecca Reynolds. “Our theme is local fusion, so we want to use as many North Carolina products as we can and then we’ll tie in some international flavors. We’re going to have some Asian themed dishes, some Italian and Hispanic, so we’re going to have all of it tied into North Carolina Products.”
According to BHAWK Co-Owner Jessica Halling, the menu was created specifically to pair with the distillery's brews from both the Sergeant’s Valor and Madam Colonel lines.
“Our grazing boards will be an opportunity to create a tasting experience complementary to the spirits. One of them will have selections on it that pull out some ingredient from the bourbon whether it's cinnamon, or caramel or banana flavor. The food on the board, for a special experience, will complement the taste. Similarly, we’ll have a clear spirits version,” shared Halling.
Following BHAWK’s opening, there are plans to expand the menu as well as open the opportunity for the venue to host large events such as private & business events, weddings and more.
With a full kitchen already installed, the BHAWK facility has already begun planning events for 2024, with the ability and venue space to host 200 guests. However, management shared that the goal is to move towards hosting larger events for 400 guests.
BHAWK is currently hiring new team members. You can go to their website here to learn more.
