Citizens invited to comment on update to Moore County Land Use Plan

The Moore County Board of Commissioners will convene for a Special Meeting on Thursday, Jan.18, 2024, at 5:30pm in the auditorium at Pinecrest High School located at 250 Voit Gilmore Ln.  in Southern Pines. 

Doors will open at 5:00pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to hold a public forum regarding an update of the Moore County Land Use Plan. 

The Board specifically seeks citizen input regarding:

• Preservation and protection of the ambiance and heritage of Moore County

• Enhancement of the union of the built and natural environments to improve citizen health through the use of open space and recreational opportunities.

• Optimization of the use of land within Moore County

• Accommodation for a variety of housing types Citizens may review the County’s current 2013 Land Use Plan.
