Taste of West Africa returns to serve downtown Fayetteville

A familiar downtown Fayetteville restaurant has returned to dishing up western flavors to fans of food from across the world.

Taste of West Africa (also known as Taste of West Africa: Awo's Cuisine online) is a full service casual restaurant, has now reopened with a limited menu after a successful soft opening over this past weekend.

Taste of West Africa is a Minority, family owned restaurant located at 116 Person St, in Fayetteville. Head chefs Isabella and Ms. Bridget have been dishing up healthy, authentic West African cuisines prepared in a homemade style using fresh and locally sourced ingredients to the area since 2012.

On Jan. 18 the TOWA team announced on their Facebook page that they would be returning to the community by hosting a popup shop during the MLK Parade downtown. Since then, they have continued to post updates on the page including announcing a soft opening on Jan. 20 along with a menu for the day.

With options such as koliko, meat pies, jollof rice and more, the TOWA team has returned to serving entrees that are bold, exciting and cooked with love.

Along with sharing food from their culture, Taste of West Africa loves to give back to its roots by actively contributing with their hearts, time, and monetary donations to give to those in West Africa most in need. Currently, their non-profit, Loving Hands International, has 5 life-saving and life sustaining causes.
