Synergy Steel and EVP Michael Emanuel unite with Children of Fallen Heroes for development of Retreat & STEAM Education Center

New progress has just been announced on a massive project dedicated to serving as a beacon of hope and healing.

The Children of Fallen Heroes (CFH) nonprofit 501(c)(3) nonprofit group announced today that new partners have joined on the Children of Fallen Heroes Retreat and STEAM Education Center project, a 73,000 square foot facility which is set to be developed on an acquired 82 acres of pristine land near Fort Bragg (Liberty) in Moore County.

The new center will provide support and resources to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Located in Vass, NC, the center will be the first of its kind in the region and will offer a range of programs and services to help children and families cope with the challenges of losing a loved one in service to their country or community.

The choice of Moore County as the project's location is strategic, considering its proximity to Fort Bragg and Pinehurst. This ensures that the Retreat and STEAM Education Center remains accessible to military families and widowed spouses, offering them a supportive environment within their community.

“I started this organization because I wanted to create a place where children in similar situations could find the support they need to thrive. We are committed to providing the resources and support children need to thrive in the face of adversity,” shared Founder and President, Children of Fallen Heroes Kenneth Wasley in a press release. “We are honored to open our doors and begin serving the families of our fallen heroes.”

The focal point of this ambitious endeavor is the first phase — the creation of 20 tiny homes, strategically located just moments away from Fort Bragg and Pinehurst, North Carolina.

The project was announced in March 2023, after CFH entered into a contract to purchase the 82 acres of land to build the new facility.

Currently, the full Retreat & STEAM Education Center project is accepting public donations with a $500,000 goal. At the time of this publication, a total of $80,684 has been raised.
