United Way of Cumberland County announces move to new temporary office space

Their new home is now located at 559 Executive Place, Suite 101 in Fayetteville.

The United Way of Cumberland County is bidding farewell, 222 Maiden Lane, where United Way found a home in 1998. 

United way of Cumberland County (UWCC) has announced that they will be relocating to a temporary office nearby.

The organization's more than 26 years in the location served as the home of much of the their chapter's  history. 

The Leadership Development Program took root in 2004, followed by the Dolly Parton Imagination launch in 2005. In 2012, UWCC introduced 2-1-1, and 2013 marked 75 years of service to Cumberland County. In 2021, United Way initiated the annual meal packing event, leading up to the thrilling launch of Over the Edge in 2023. Countless ideas and memories reside at 222 Maiden Lane and team members shared that they will be eternally cherished sharing: “Here's to new beginnings and fresh opportunities for our community.”

Their new home is now located at 559 Executive Place, Suite 101 in Fayetteville. 

The organization sent an email notice about the move to their newsletter on Jan. 30 sharing their excitement stating: 

“This move represents a fresh start for us, and we are eager to continue our mission of improving lives across Cumberland County.

At United Way of Cumberland County, we are dedicated to strategically raising and investing resources that have a meaningful impact on prioritized issues of education, health, basic critical needs and financial stability. We believe in fostering effective and innovative partnerships with direct provider agencies to create lasting change.

This move is not just a change of address; it's a symbol of growth and progress. We are excited about the possibilities that our new location brings, and we remain committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.” 

 

The organization partnered with the Cool Spring Downtown District to announce the sale of their former property located at 222 Maiden Lane in Fayetteville in June 2023. 

The goal was to seek non-binding submissions from interested and qualified buyers to purchase.

The nonprofit group issued a Request for Information on May 4 to begin seeking non-binding submissions from interested and qualified buyers to purchase its double lot.
