The International City/County Management Association has recognized Jessica Roth, assistant town manager for Southern Pines, with the Credentialed Manager designation. Roth is one of over 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA.

“Anyone who has worked with or around Jessica knows how valuable she is to the Town,” stated Town Manager Reagan Parsons in a press release. “Her insights and problem solving, honed with decades of experience and education, help keep Southern Pines one of the best places to live and work in our state. I am proud to have her as a colleague.”

In order to be recognized by ICMA, an applicant must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

Roth holds both a Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. She also received a graduate certificate in Public Financial Management from the University of Kentucky. She has more than 23 years of professional local government executive experience.

Prior to relocating to North Carolina in 2021, Roth worked in the metro Atlanta region for two decades, most recently as the Business Services Director for the City of Suwanee, GA. She also served as Suwanee’s Assistant to the City Manager as well as the Director of Planning and Development for the City of Snellville, GA.

ICMA’s mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world.
