Fayetteville residents and dessert fans alike all gathered on Friday, March 1 to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Shae’s Confection, a mobile dessert truck offering specialty desserts, made from scratch homemade sweets, deep fried delights, coffee and more.
Despite the rain, fans of Shae’s came out to pray, laugh and honor those who made the new business venture possible along with the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.
Shae’s Confections was started by owner and the business namesake Shanell Lunsford. Shanell was born and raised in Fayetteville NC. After trying several different careers at the age of 42 she discovered true passion, her gift was baking and she jumped in with both feet. Deciding to pursue her passion first through education, she received her Degree of Certificate in Baking & Pastry at The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham.
What is today known as Shae’s Confections was born out of her desire to serve others. Her first sold products were cakes in a jar and the joy and excitement it brought to the customers was truly life changing for her because she wanted to do more.
Several years ago she had a desire for a dessert truck. She asked someone to be on the lookout for a truck for her. Feb. 2020 they looked together and found what is now Shae’s Confections Dessert Truck.
Shae's confections is a family owned business. She, along with her husband Marcelious have a blended family of 6 children and 8 grandchildren who they hope to pass the business on to.
Shae’s Confections can be found in Lidl’s parking lot at 1912 Skibo Rd in Fayetteville from 12 p.m.- 6 p.m.
