Tullahoma Tennessee based tech company Jacobs Technology Inc. has announced it has permanently laid off a total of 240 workers from its worksite located at 1733 Son Tay Road on Fort Liberty.

According to a WARN Report filed with the North Carolina Department of Commerce on March 8, the layoffs are part of a “reduction of operations” that went into effect on March 1, 2024.

“We are writing to inform you that Jacobs Technology Inc. (“Jacobs”) has been notified by the government client that it has selected a new contractor to perform services under the SITEC II follow-on contract. We anticipate that the vast majority of the workforce will continue in uninterrupted employment with the successor contractor or one of their subcontractors. Currently, we are on an existing Contract extension through May 16, 2024,” shared the company in the WARN Report.

The 240 employees were impacted unless they were retained by the successor contractor or their subcontractors. This action will result in Jacobs no longer employing individuals at the worksite, no bumping rights exist.
