Publix Super Market announces second Fayetteville location

Publix Super Markets, Inc. will be opening its second store in Fayetteville after it was announced that the supermarket chain has executed a lease on a new location at the southeast corner of Rockfish Rd. and Lakewood Dr. near Hope Mills. 

The future 48,387 square-foot store will employ approximately 140 associates.

“We are excited to continue our growth across North Carolina with a second location in Fayetteville and we’re looking forward to welcoming our new customers soon,” the store shared in the announcement.   

The new location will be located close to the Traemoor Village shopping center, which is already home to a Harris Teeter, FastMed Urgent Care, a number of restaurants and more. The new store will be the latest addition to other newer developments in the area including a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Eggs Up Grill and a Starbucks coffee shop, all of which opened in 2023. 

The first Publix store in Fayetteville opened on Nov. 11, 2017, at the Tallywood Shopping Center and the chain currently has 54 stores across North Carolina. 

“We have received numerous requests to open a second Publix in this area,” said Media Relations Manager and Spokesperson for the Publix Charlotte Division Jared Glover. “We're looking forward to continuing to be an active part of the community and providing premier customer service and quality foods to our new customers.”

A grand opening date has not been announced.
