Fayetteville Technical Community College has again been named a Top 10 Military Friendly School, earning the No. 4 spot on the list of large community colleges nationwide.
The designation is for the 2024-25 academic year and was awarded by Viqtory, an independent media organization that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
FTCC has consistently been awarded Top 10 Military Friendly status in the large community college category by the organization, including earning the No. 1 ranking for 2022-23 and 2019-20. The College was No. 8 on last year’s list.
“Our forward movement in the rankings, from a designation of number eight to number four, is a testament to the commitment of our Military & Veterans Programs team who walk alongside military members, and their families, during their active service locally and globally, while continuing to serve them during their transition to Veteran status,” Scot McCosh, FTCC’s Senior Director of Military & Veterans Programs, said in a press release. “FTCC’s administration, faculty and staff continue to make superb service to our military-affiliated students a priority every day.”
“While we are thankful for this honor, what we most celebrate is the success of our military-affiliated students in the classroom, in service to our nation and in transition to service in our local communities and private industry,” continued McCosh in a press release.
FTCC has also earned the designation of Military-Spouse Friendly School for 2023-24.
More than 1,800 institutions participated in this year’s survey to determine the list of 2024-25 Military Friendly Schools. Of the participants, 537 schools earned special awards for going above the standard.
The methodology, criteria and weightings for the list were determined by Viqtory with input from an advisory council of independent leaders in higher education and the military recruitment community.
FTCC offers a wide range of classes, and programs are available in a variety of settings, including on FTCC’s campuses, at Fort Liberty and online. FTCC awards appropriate credit for prior military learning and follows up with comprehensive services to meet the special educational needs of military personnel and their families.
FTCC’s All American Veterans Center, which is located on its Fayetteville campus, provides educational assistance and support to Veterans. The College’s Transition Tech program provides industry-focused training for military members who are preparing for civilian life.
In addition, FTCC has full-time staff located at Liberty Training and Education Center at Fort Liberty and at Camp Bull Simons Army Education Center at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, serving active duty military personnel.
