Golf Pride celebrates launch of new putter grips with ‘Reverse Taper Day’ on April 15

Golf Pride, an industry leader in golf performance equipment based in Pinehurst, NC, has dubbed April 15th “Reverse Taper Day” in the Village of Pinehurst, a moniker acknowledging the highly anticipated availability of its new Reverse Taper line of putter grips nationwide.

To commemorate the occasion, Golf Pride will host a special event at its Retail Lab – located inside the company’s Global Innovation Center at 15 Centennial Blvd in Pinehurst, NC. Throughout the day, expert fitters will be on-hand to share details on the new Reverse Taper grips and help to provide custom fittings and installations for interested parties. Refreshments will be served and Golf Pride will give away a free headcover to the first 50 who purchase a Reverse Taper grip at the event, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 15.

The Retail Lab is designed to provide the public with an “inside the ropes” Tour-like experience. Players of all levels are guided through the selection process by a Tour technician to help them choose the right grips for their game. The company’s full catalog is available and the grips are installed on-site, the same day they are selected. The experience is intended to be supportive and welcoming so golfers can better understand the impact a grip has on overall performance.

Engineered to optimize both hands during the putting stroke to help square the clubface at impact, Reverse Taper grips feature a slimmer upper half and wider lower section to anchor the top hand for stability and reduce tension in the lower hand for smooth acceleration through the stroke. Additionally, Reverse Taper prevents micro-levers in the stroke, helping golfers to not flip their wrists at impact.

Constructed using polyurethane to deliver the right softness, texture and weight, Reverse Taper grips enable more consistency and confidence in golfers’ hands. The feel is soft, yet responsive with unique traction elements to help each hand control speed. The grips feature a vibrant color palette with visual cues and textures to help with finger placement regardless of how a player likes to grip their putter. Despite there being multiple sizes, the weight of each model maintains a balanced ‘sweet spot’ so golfers can sense the putter head throughout the stroke.

Reverse Taper is available in two sizes in three unique shapes:

Round - Universally popular for all hand gripping techniques; features a traditionally round upper section that tapers into a wider lower section
Pistol - Classic pistol shape to help golfers lock in their upper hand; designed for all and often popular with players who use a left-hand-low technique (right-handed golfer)
Flat - Slightly more oval shaped upper section; designed for all and often preferred by golfers with a palm-to-palm putting stroke style
