52 new parking spaces coming to downtown Fayetteville

By Staff Report, posted Apr 22, 2024 on BizFayetteville.com

The City of Fayetteville will expand a city-owned parking lot by 52 spaces located between Winslow and Russell Streets. The parking lot will be closed beginning May 1 due to construction and is expected to last until mid-October.

Residents traveling in vicinity of the construction are asked to pay attention to signs, construction workers and obey posted speed limits until construction is completed.

Although the upgraded parking lot will primarily be for city employees, it will also be used for events held in downtown Fayetteville.

“Adding this many extra parking spots near City Hall will be excellent for employees and will allow closer parking to open up closer to City Hall for residents,” said Fayetteville spokesman Loren Bymer in a press release.

The current parking facility has 34 spaces. Once the $575,000 project is completed, the parking facility will have a total of 86 spaces. The entrance will remain on Franklin St.
