Fayetteville Regional Airport sees growth in passenger numbers; new marketing position now open

The Fayetteville Regional Airport Commission met yesterday, April 23, for their monthly meeting to hear reports on the progress and growth of the airport.

The meeting began with appointing new leadership for the Commission. The following commissioners were voted into new positions:

Chairperson - Mr. Naynesh Mehta
Vice Chairperson - Mrs. Liza Hondros
Secretary - Ms. Karen Ewart

Following the acceptance of their new positions, the newest commissioner Judy Dawkins was sworn in. Following the brief swearing in ceremony, Interim Airport Director Deontae Watson began an operations update presentation to report on the newest developments and data gathered for February and March 2024.

Highlights of the presentation include:

Total enplanements for all carriers in February 2024 was 12,519 with deplanements at 12,345
A total of 24,864 passengers flew in/out in February 2024 showing an increase of 10.8 percent in total enplanements compared to February 2023
Rental car revenue in March 2024 showed a 3 percent increase as compared to March 2023. (This value includes AIP 51 Concessions Relief.)
Parking lot revenue in March was saw a 5 percent increase YTD compared to 2023

Moving forward, Airport leadership said they will continue to advertise the Fayetteville Regional Airport in the surrounding areas to continue to attract new and returning passengers. The Airport is also looking to hire a new Marketing Specialist with the job posting available to applicants until Friday, May 10,2024.
