Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux on Skibo Road closes doors

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux at 2116 Skibo Rd.

Fans of popular sport themed restaurant Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux will now have to drive to Wilmington to get their fix after it was announced on May 8 that the Fayetteville location on Skibo Road had closed permanently. 

The news was delivered via a letter taped to the front doors which reads: 

“Dear Fayetteville, 

We are writing to you with a heavy heart to announce that Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux at 2116 Skibo Road had closed its doors for the last time. This decision was not made lightly, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support over the years. 

We are sad to say goodbye at this location. 

Thank you for being part of our journey. We are forever grateful for the friendships and memories we have made together. We look forward to your continued support at our other locations. 

Warm regards, 

Ownership.” 

A spokesperson from the Walk-On’s corporate office was able to confirm with GFBJ that operations at the location on Skibo Road ceased fully on May 8. They added that it was a pleasure to have served the Fayetteville community. They also shared that a reason for the closure has not been given to corporate. 

Following this closure, the closest Walk-On’s location is in Wilmington at 3710 Oleander Drive. 

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux  is a nationally recognized restaurant and sports bar. Concepted by Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux opened its doors in 2003 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With a winning culture, walk-on, the brand has become a beloved destination for sports enthusiasts, families and friends to celebrate any occasion.
