The Moore County Chamber of Commerce was honored with a Communication Excellence Award at the 2024 Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (CACCE) Staff Leadership Development Conference, held at the end of April at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville, SC. The Communication Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding communication efforts by Chambers of Commerce in North Carolina and South Carolina, evaluating entries based on originality, design and quality, and results achieved. The entries included efforts undertaken in the past 18 months.
The Moore County Chamber received recognition in the Campaign category for Chambers with under 700 members for their innovative Family Friendly Employer Guide, released in Feb. 2024. This guide assists employers in supporting their employees, particularly addressing childcare challenges. Recognizing that childcare impacts work dynamics, the guide aims to improve employee wellness, retention, and upward mobility by encouraging business leaders to adopt a comprehensive approach to these issues.
The guide targets business leaders across Moore County, urging CEOs, presidents, managers, and HR professionals to review and implement recommendations to enhance corporate culture and support employees' childcare needs, family well-being, and overall success. This guide was created with the guidance of those businesses and non-profit organizations currently serving on the Chamber’s Childcare Task Force.
