Campbell University’s Doctor of Pharmacy program has achieved remarkable success in the latest residency match results. With a residency match rate of 88 percent, the program has outperformed the national rate of 81 percent, ranking it #1 among private pharmacy schools in the state. This achievement highlights the dedication and excellence of both students and faculty.
CPHS has a total of 40 PGY 1 and PGY 2 residency matches. When you combine the early commitment and match residencies, CPHS had another excellent residency match for the graduates in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 seeking to continue their post-graduate education.
Beth Mills (’98 PharmD), chair of Pharmacy Practice, expressed her pride in the program’s accomplishments. “This is great news and is a direct reflection of the hard work of our students as well as our faculty and staff’s guidance and mentorship along the way. The high match rate underscores our commitment to preparing students for successful careers in pharmacy,” said Mills in a press release.
Recent Doctor of Pharmacy graduate Dr. Jessica Hamilton, who matched with a PGY1 residency at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, shared her experience. “The preparation I received at Campbell was amazing. The faculty and staff provided unwavering support and exceptional guidance, which not only helped me match with my top-choice residency but also excel as a student. I feel fully prepared to enter the profession and make a meaningful impact,” shared Hamilton in a press release.
These achievements are a testament to the quality of education and support provided by Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. The program’s ability to exceed national benchmarks in residency placements reflects the rigorous academic environment and the collaborative efforts of students, faculty and staff.
