Cumberland County has officially announced that Robin Deaver has been hired as the County’s new Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer. Deaver’s first day with Cumberland County will be June 17, 2024.
Deaver currently works as Chief Financial Officer/Deputy Treasurer for the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President for Business and Finance with Fayetteville Technical Community College, where she worked from 2008 to 2023, also serving as FTCC’s Controller and Associate Vice President for Business and Finance before stepping into the Senior Vice President role. She also previously worked for the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor as an Assistant State Auditor and Audit Supervisor, and for Cherry, Bekaert and Holland LLP as a Staff Accountant.
Deaver received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Accounting from North Carolina State University and is also a Certified Public Accountant.
“I am incredibly pleased to have someone of Robin’s caliber, skill, knowledge and experience at the local and state levels joining our organization,” said Cumberland County Manager Clarence Grier in a press release. “Robin’s expertise provides the County with an individual with deep understanding of finance and accounting, and a history of being an effective leader. Additionally, her experience as a CPA is incredibly valuable.”
