Cumberland County Schools offers new language interpreter option

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is dedicated to ensuring effective communication and fostering family engagement with all of its families, regardless of the language they speak.
Starting Monday, July 1, 2024, the district is excited to introduce CCS Language Support Line, which is focused on enhancing communication to encourage engagement with the district's Limited English Proficiency (LEP) families!
As part of the language access plan, CCS has 'teamed up' with Syncroz Language Solutions to enable individuals who speak languages other than English to connect with CCS staff in their preferred language. The primary languages covered by the Language Support Line include Spanish, Haitian, Korean, French, Creole, Chinese and Arabic with options for additional languages, as needed.
Anyone can use this innovative service by doing the following:
Dialing CCS' Central Services at 910-678-2300, press 1 for English or press 2 to speak with an interpreter in the desired language
Alternatively, bypass the main line by dialing 910- 858-8893 to receive assistance from an interpreter who can help the caller communicate with the appropriate school or office
