Delta Apparel, Inc. faces hardships, could end up laying off 202 employees across three locations in Cumberland and Robeson Counties

Due to financial and business difficulties, Delta Apparel, Inc. is currently seeking a sale of its business. 

If the company is unable to conclude a transaction, then they will have to discontinue operations at its facilities located at 1 Soffe Drive, Fayetteville, 719 Dunn Road, Fayetteville, and 13750 Hwy. 301 South, Rowland. 

According to a WARN Report this would result in the loss of 156 jobs between the two Cumberland County facilities and 46 jobs at the Robeson County manufacturing site.

Any employment terminations in relation to this event are expected to occur on August 29, 2024.

According to the notice, “The Company was not able to provide earlier notice as it was actively seeking a transaction to enable the continuation of operations, and believed in good faith that the potential for business disruption accompanying notice would have impaired its ability to obtain such a transaction.”
