Through a partnership with GoVA, Inc., Methodist University is bringing more resources to active-duty military and Veteran students.
Methodist University recently signed a partnership with GoVA, an online resource focused on increasing the wellness of the U.S. military community, that will provide at least 35 one-year scholarships for free membership to GoVA’s online financial education and wellness platform, “The Edge.” The scholarships are available to Methodist University ROTC cadets, active-duty military and Veteran students.
“We are very pleased to partner with GoVA to bring these free memberships to military-connected students,” said Methodist University Provost Dr. Suzanne Blum Malley in a press release. “This partnership advances our work to enhance student financial literacy as part of our comprehensive commitment to student success. We also look forward to extending the connection and relationship with GoVA with their support of and participation in campus events for our military-connected students.”
The agreement also provides the Methodist University military and Veteran community to receive bi-annual updates from the GoVA organization and will ensure at least two opportunities for GoVA officials to attend Methodist University events throughout the year.
“GoVA is thrilled to partner with Methodist University and support their ROTC program as well as the Veteran and military affiliated student body,” said Theodore Esparza, director of CRA Partnerships at GoVA, in a press release. “We understand the many challenges that are unique to our military community, and we are completely dedicated to providing our members with new and exciting opportunities while simultaneously helping improve our members’ financial posture. We provide financial literacy education and training that is free to our members thanks to the many donations our foundation receives. I am so proud to be a part of this organization and to be able to continue to serve in this capacity.”
Any Methodist University ROTC cadets, active-duty military or Veteran students interested in accessing GoVA’s online financial education and wellness platform may contact Military & Veteran Services – the University’s central location for services to military-connected students.
