Networth women’s networking group awards scholarships to promising young women

Local Women’s informal networking group, Networth is investing in the next generation of professionals by recently announcing their scholarship recipients for 2024. A small group of about 40 women from the Fayetteville area, Networth focuses on spotlighting members and collecting funding to help provide scholarship opportunities to local students. 

Each year, Networth awards three female recipients with a $2,000 scholarship for the upcoming academic year. In addition, scholarship recipients also receive a one year free membership to Networth. This year, the Networth Scholarship Committee awarded three scholarships at their monthly meeting held on Friday, June 21.

Recipients were chosen from a total of 24 applicants, the highest amount seen by the group thus far.

Diamond Franklin: 

Franklin attends Methodist University where she is pursuing a doctor of occupational therapy degree. Upon post-completion of a doctorate program, she has career goals of gaining both clinical skills and a strong foundation working in a clinical cute population.She would like to perform travel contracting to gain insight of various cultures and settings across the United States. in turn, she would like to use this knowledge gained to teach where she would educate the new OT practitioners in an occupational therapy program. Long-term, she would like to support OT policy development. 

Danielle Vines 
Vines attends Fayetteville Technical Community College where she is pursuing an associate degree in radiography. In the future, she would like to continue her studies in the medical field by pursuing the MRI program. She would like to work in a hospital in the ER and imaging department. Her passion for photography compliments her medical imaging studies. She feels it is important to give back and to uplift people at any stage of their life.   

Andrea Ross

Ross attends Fayetteville Technical Community College where she is pursuing an associate degree of  nursing. In the future, she would like to extend her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She has been interested in science since she was a small child and feels a sense of duty to helping others and public service. Since her time in Fayetteville, she has volunteered with the Cumberland county schools system and Gentiva Hospice.

The Networth Group meets every third Friday of the month.
