FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital was awarded the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines ® Stroke Gold Plus with Honor Roll Achievement Award and the Target Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.
“Moore Regional Hospital is honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our dedication to helping patients have the best possible chance of survival after a stroke,” said Melanie Blacker, M.D., the stroke program director for the hospital. “Get With The Guidelines-Stroke makes it easier for our teams to put proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis to improve outcomes for stroke patients.”
Developed as a national stroke registry by the AHA/ASA, the main goal of the Get With The Guidelines (GWTG)-Stroke Program was to provide updated and consistent scientific guidelines for health care professionals to help treat stroke patients.
The participants are recognized based on their organizations’ commitments on providing quality care and treatment guidelines to stroke patients.
“Moore Regional Hospital also provides education to patients to help them manage their health and rehabilitation once at home,” the press release by FirstHealth of the Carolinas said.
MRH has previously been acknowledged by the American Heart Association, earning the Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award in 2019 and 2020.
“Moore Regional Hospital also met specific scientific guidelines as a Primary Stroke Center, featuring a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients admitted to the emergency department,” the press release said.
