Southern Pines Brewing Company is excited to announce a new addition to its core lineup, available year-round, with the launch of Delighted Devil, a Belgian-style strong golden ale. Delighted Devil will be available on draft, as 12 oz cans in 6-packs and as 19.2 oz single serving cans. This Belgian-style golden ale clocks in at a 9.2% ABV while maintaining approachability and being extremely light-bodied.

Earlier this year, Southern Pines Brewing Company's head brewer, Steve Anchor, spent time in Belgium on an internship at Cantillon Brewery, where he experienced firsthand the complexities of Belgian-style beers. Southern Pines Brewing Co. prides itself on its hand-crafted water program to more accurately recreate beer styles, down to the molecular level, from all over the world. Delighted Devil's water profile was inspired from Rochefort, which is historically tied to popular abbey ales from Belgium.

"This is our balanced and modern version of this style that uses a late aroma hop addition of Hallertau Blanc which complements and rounds out the complex yeast esters that are found in our traditional Belgian yeast," said Anchor in a press release. “Everything down to the custom water profile was inspired by Belgian beer culture."

This beer launched locally in Southern Pines, NC on Friday, Sept. 13 and will roll out around the Carolinas this fall.

"This is an evolution of our business that will give us access to a whole new type of consumer. Folks that are craft occasional drinkers will get to try our products in a single serving size at grocery stores, convenience stores and concert venues across both North and South Carolina," sayid Andrew Johnson, Director of Sales, in a press release. "Our slogan is 'Rooted in the Community' and this packing format will help us reach new communities."
