The Cool Spring Downtown District, in partnership with the Arts Council of Fayetteville-Cumberland County, is excited to announce Fiesta Latina, a dynamic celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which will kick off the 46th Annual International Folk Festival weekend on Friday, Sept. 27, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Fayetteville.

This year’s Fiesta Latina promises an exciting lineup of entertainment. A live performance stage will be at the corner of Maxwell and Hay Streets, featuring DK SIIX and The Paco Band, a high-energy Nuevo Flamenco ensemble known for its original compositions and Latin covers. Attendees will also be treated to performances by talented Flamenco dancers.

In addition to the lively performances, the evening will showcase three art exhibitions celebrating Hispanic culture and creativity:

  1. "Obras de la Vida: Capturing Culture Through Portraits" – Hosted by the Arts Council of Fayetteville-Cumberland County, this exhibit will feature the works of Hispanic artists, highlighting their unique approaches to realism and portraiture. The exhibit opens at 6 PM at the Arts Council's Gallery, located at 301 Hay Street. More Information here: https://www.wearethearts.com/obras
  2. "Esqueletos Creativos: A Dia de Muertos Art Challenge" – Presented by the Cool Spring Downtown District, this exhibit features seven intricately designed skeletons created by local artists and organizations from Cumberland County. The exhibit will be on display in the alley at 222 Hay Street and officially opens on the event's night.
  3. “50 Years of Color Mural Reveal” - Hosted by the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, artist Maura Trice will reveal a mural painted to help celebrate the Arts Council’s 50th anniversary. 50 Years of Color pays homage to iconic artists such as Picasso and Grant Wood, while also incorporating Trice’s unique style. The reveal will begin at 6 p.m. in the Arts Council’s parking lot.

Sponsors of Fiesta Latina include PWC, The City of Fayetteville, MetroNet, Healy Wholesale, Carter Bank and Trust, Sam’s Club, Crown Complex, Fort Liberty Credit Union, Mpire Financial, the Law Offices of Dahlia Castillo, PLLC, and the Arts Council of Fayetteville-Cumberland County.
